Dwyane Wade had a game-high 30 points as the Miami Heat overcame a slow first quarter to drop the Sacramento Kings 120-108.
The veteran shooting guard was 11-of-16 and also dished out 10 assists as Miami rallied to win comfortably.
Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers each had 20 points and LeBron James added a further 18 for the Heat who moved to 14-2 at home and have the best overall record in the NBA at 26-7.
In Portland the San Antonio Spurs gave stars Tim Duncan and Tony Parker a well earned rest and not surprisingly the Trailblazers cruised to a 137-97 triumph.
The Spurs, with the luxury of an 11-game winning streak, were playing their third game in four nights.
Marc Gasol had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to an 89-76 win over the visiting Philadelphia 76ers.
It was the fourth loss in a row for the Atlantic division leaders who remain four games ahead of the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics despite their longest losing streak of the year.
There were also wins Tuesday night for the Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Indiana had to go to overtime to beat the New Orleans Hornets 117-108, while in Cleveland Kyrie Irving and Daniel Gibson made crucial late game free throws as the Cavs edged the Detroit Pistons 101-100.
The Chicago Bulls are 7501.00 to be crowned NBA champions this season, with the Celtics 13.00 and the Miami Heat 3.25.
