Celtics lose fourth straight

The Boston Celtic remain four and a half games behind the Philadelphia 76ers after an 89-73 defeat to the Dallas Mavericks.

Missing Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass and Rajon Rondo from their line up the Celtics were no match for the defending NBA champions as Dirk Nowitzki dropped in 26 points and also grabbed 16 rebounds.

Jason Terry came off the bench to add 16 for the Mavs who host the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday evening prior to the All-Star break.

Meanwhile the Celtics make the short trip to Oklahoma City to face Kevin Durant and the Thunder.

Jordan Crawford came off the bench to lead the Washington Wizards with 20 points, but it was in vane as they fell 104-88 to the Phoenix Suns.

Marcin Gortat and Channing Frye combined for 39 points and Steve Nash had a double-double with 11 assists and 12 points as the Suns won their second straight.

The Bulls are 7501.00 to be crowned NBA champions this season, with the Celtics 13.00 and the Miami Heat 3.25.
