Aidan Coleman jumps aboard his favourite horse at Haydock today looking to take a serious stepping stone to more Grand National glory.
Coleman has given regular updates on Mon Mome and, with the Venetia Williams yard knocking in another winner at Sandown yesterday - Kapga De Cerisy - hopes are high the 12-year-old can score in the Grand National Trial.
He said: "I've got five good rides at Haydock on Saturday, headlined by Mon Mome. He absolutely hated the ground at Haydock last time, when I pulled him up, so you can write that run off."

"This better ground and the extra four furlongs will be in his favour. He showed he retains all his old enthusiasm with his excellent second at Cheltenham the time before and a repeat of that would be a perfect stepping stone to the National."
Mon Mome is 51.00 to win the Grand National in April while Deep Purple can be backed at 81.00 and Uncle Junior at 1000.00.
He also rides another 'old favourite' Kayf Aramis whom he describes as a real battler and is also keen on French import Moujik Borget who he says has made a great impression at home.
He hasn't sat on that one or another, Meister Eckhart, but the trainer says Rebecca Curtis likes the horse a lot.
