Warriors not pursuing Katich deal

Western Australia coach Lachlan Stevens has rubbished reports they are trying to bring New South Wales veteran Simon Katich back to his hometown.
Although the tactician has admitted that the Warriors would love the switch, if it somehow happens.
Speculation is rife in press that the Warriors want to see the return of their hero Katich so he can finish his career at his former home ground of the WACA.
The 36-year-old batsman played 38 one-dayers and 46 Shield matches for WA before heading out for NSW in 2012. The move benefited his career a great deal and he ended up playing for Australia for many years.
A few months ago, Katich returned to the Western Australian region to represent Perth Scorchers in the inaugural Big Bash League 2011/12, which fuelled media reports that the Warriors want him back.
However, Stevens has firmly denied that they're chasing Katich's signature and has made it clear that no contact has been made with the fiery left-hander in this regard.
"No. I don't know where Kat's at. We spoke to him during the Big Bash about Big Bash situations. If Simon Katich comes to us and says that he wants to come back to Western Australia and play a season here, you'd be silly not to use a man of his experience and his calibre. If that happens, that happens, but we're not sure where that sits at the moment. We'll wait and see post-season."
Australia are 1.14 to win the 2012 Commonwealth Bank Series, while India are 1213.00 and Sri Lanka are 5.50.
